Dinner just around the Corner

At CityWalk Motor Inn Rockhampton, we often get asked about great places to eat nearby. As the owner/operators, on site 24/7 we don’t often get the chance to explore the local restaurant scene. However.... we have sampled our fair share and have a few favourites that we love to revisit. Whether you’re looking for something within walking distance, a dine-in or breakfast-to-go, picturesque lunch, or a classy dinner, we have the best selections for you just around the corner from William to Denham Street.

If you’re looking for a relaxed, friendly atmosphere to enjoy a delicious steak just up the road on William Street, Coco Brew is a must-visit. This local treasure has the absolute best to offer from eye fillet steak with Diane sauce to lighter appetisers like their amazing Bao Buns that we cannot recommend enough. They also have a fabulous array of cocktails that we have sampled once or twice!

Delicious Coco Brew Steak

Around the corner on Denham Street, Barlett’s Tavern offers a classic pub meal with a carefree environment. Whether you’re craving a burger or something heartier, Bartlett’s has got you covered! If you’re more in the mood for something spicier we wouldn’t go past Thai Tahnee, on the corner of Denham and Campbell Streets. Our personal favourite are the Pad Thai noodles for a quick takeaway dinner, but the restaurant also offers a fantastic dine-in option if a sit-down dinner is more your style.

For our Early Birds

If you’re an early riser or looking for a good breakfast before heading off for the day, Rockhampton has some amazing spots to grab a bite.

Coco Brew Express on the corner of Albert Street and the Bruce Highway is a great quick stop with its convenient drive-through open at 5am on weekdays, perfect for those on their way to work. Coco Brew restaurant up the road from CityWalk is the perfect sit-down option with a delicious breakfast menu starting at 6:30am, or if you’re feeling lazy or wanting breakfast in bed, you can order directly from your room via their app, and they’ll deliver straight to your door.

A little bit further up the road, Two Professors Café is another excellent breakfast spot, with a busy bunch of locals, especially with the post-workout crowd. Always a great sign of food with a local crowd.

Lunchtime Specialists

If you’re looking for lunch: Hummingbird Café, Riverston Tearooms, the Criterion Hotel, and the Heritage Hotel are the absolute best spots! The Hummingbird Café offers beautiful meals, with the lamb and hummus a hard to resist favourite of ours. The best part? The café is located inside the Rockhampton Museum of Art. Riverston Tearooms located in a beautiful historic building is situated on the longest heritage-listed street in Australia (Quay Street), complete with chandeliers and a touch of old-money elegance. And obviously complimented by their exceptional food.

The Criterion and Heritage Hotels have been serving customers on Quay Street for over 150 years offering you a classic pub meal in a long-established Rockhampton landmark.

Perhaps you could try St Aubin’s Village near Rockhampton Airport, which offers a stunning garden setting to sit under the trees, sip tea and indulge in homemade sweet treats, perfect for a leisurely afternoon break.
